Royal Caribbean Announces Emerging Artists For Legend Of The Seas

Royal Caribbean announced the newest cohort of emerging artists for its newest cruise ship, Legend of the Seas.

These artists will be part of Royal Caribbean’s Artist Discovery Program.

This program is designed to connect emerging artists from around the world and their artwork to passengers on Royal Caribbean’s cruise ships and land destinations.

The process to get chosen for this program is very competitive. Royal Caribbean received 250 applicants from the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. From there, six were chosen to receive grants for pieces inspired by their home countries. These artists will showcase their artwork on the new Legend of the Seas.

There will be different types of artwork ranging from large murals to sculptures. You can find the artwork in highly visible areas throughout the ship including the embarkation and welcome areas, Royal Promenade, as well as Suite Sundeck and Suite Sundeck Lobby.

Giovanni Abath- Abath, from Curacao, will design a large mural and stainless-steel sculpture that will be located in the Royal Promenade area on deck 6.

Vanessa Dalla Costa- Costa, from Trinidad and Tobago, will create a Mosaic Sculpture that will be located in the Suite Sundeck.

Porshia Denning- Denning, from U.S. Virgin Islands, will create paintings and sculptures that will be located in the Suite Sundeck Lobby.

Rafeal Vega Feliciano- Feliciano, from Puerto Rico, will create a mural located in the boarding area on deck two.

Rodrigo Macias Maldonado- Maldonado, from Mexico, will design a large mural to be featured in the Royal Promenade.

Alexander Lopez Ryliouk- Ryliouk, from Costa Rica, will design a large mural to be featured in the embarkation area.
